Holy Door of Mercy

To celebrate the Year of Mercy the Chaplaincy Team held a special assembly for Key Stage 2.  Once we had recieved the door from St Teresa's it was our turn to celebrate!  During our assembly we spoke about what mercy is and how we show it.  We also read a story from the New Testament about forgiveness and sin.

As the children passed through the door they were each given a heart to fill in a prayer or a request for mercy.  Finally we ended our assembly with the 'Act of Contrition' asking God for forgiveness.

The next day it was our turn to deliver the Holy Door to Holy Cross primary school and we joined in their celebrations before spending some time with their Pupil Chaplaincy Team and sharing our ideas!

“Together as God’s children we will, love, learn, grow, inspire, Let your light shine”.

  • To work together with families as the first educators of their children.
  • To create a happy Roman Catholic atmosphere in which everyone can develop spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, morally and physically.
  • To provide a safe, caring, stimulating environment in which everyone is encouraged to develop his or her full potential.
  • To promote self-discipline in an atmosphere which fosters respect, tolerance and acceptance of all people.
  • This school is committed to encouraging the children to develop into responsible members of the school community in preparation for their role as adult members of society. In helping us to achieve this goal we anticipate the co-operation of all our parents.
  • To support all members of the community in their faith journey.
