The Josephs Farm
We have our own mini farm here at St Joseph the Worker 2 ducks, 2 chickens and 2 rabbits! I am very grateful to Mr and Mrs McMahon for helping to make one of my dreams for the school come true!
This is a fantastic experience for the children who are able to see, touch and make connections to the wide world of animals! Observing and caring for an animal instils a sense of responsibility and respect for life. Research suggests it brings increased sensitivity and awareness of the feelings and needs of others—both animals and humans. Children will experience that all living things need more than just food and water for survival. We are stewards of God’s world looking after his wonderful creation!
Each class is included on a rota to care, feed and clean out the animal housing.
Of course you are welcome to come and meet them too –some fresh eggs each day on sale!
