Hedgehogs
Save Our Hedgehogs
We are constantly working to make our children more aware of
environmental issues and what they can do to help. We are looking
as a school at the issue of endangered animals and creatures in
Britain. This Autumn term we are going to learn about hedgehogs.
They have declined in numbers over the years to a critical point
and they are now on the list of endangered creatures in Britain.
The children will learn about these creatures and what simple
steps they can undertake to help them. One simple step is to make
a hedgehog home in your garden. Attached is a leaflet to show you
how you can make a simple home. Also on the school website is a
power point shown to the children with more information about
hedgehogs and simple homes you can make.
The children are being asked to send in photographs if they make a
home and to send in updates and progress if their home is moved
into by a hedgehog.
Children who bring in a photo will be awarded a certificate for
their efforts by the school Eco-Council.
